Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how Cricket Word Master (“the game”, “we”, “us”), published at cricwords.com, collects, uses and shares information when you use the website. By using the game you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Stored on your device. Your progress, settings, coins, streaks and almanac are saved in your browser’s local storage. We do not receive this data. Clearing your browser data removes it.
- Leaderboard and challenges. If you submit a score, join the leaderboard or challenge a friend, we receive the display name you choose, your score and level, the result of challenge games, a randomly generated player ID, and the game version. Do not use your real name or personal details as a display name.
- Log and device data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our server process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and timestamps, to deliver the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse.
- Messages you send us. If you email cricwords.gaming@gmail.com, we keep your message and address to reply.
We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your email address, phone number, or precise location in the game.
How we use information
To run the game and leaderboards, deliver challenges, improve and secure the service, respond to you, show advertising, and comply with the law.
Advertising, cookies and Google
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Google and its partners may also use other technologies, such as web beacons and device identifiers, for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
- See how Google uses advertising data and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask for your consent before using cookies for personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the game menu or in the footer of any page. Without consent we show non-personalised ads only.
- For details of the cookies and local storage we use, see our Cookie policy.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, device type, approximate location, game events). It may set cookies and collect your IP address. If you choose “Essential only”, analytics cookies are not used. You can opt out at any time with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and learn more at how Google uses data.
Other third parties
The game loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it does. The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare. If payments are offered (for example Premium), they are handled by a payment provider such as Razorpay; we do not see or store your card details. These providers have their own privacy policies.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, advertising, payments), when you choose to share content (for example a WhatsApp challenge), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users.
Retention
Leaderboard entries are kept until you ask us to remove them or the leaderboard is reset. Server logs are kept for a limited time, normally no longer than 30 days. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to deal with your request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, India, or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising (we do not sell personal information). To use these rights, or to remove a leaderboard entry, email cricwords.gaming@gmail.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The game is a general-audience puzzle and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Players who tell the game they are under 18 receive non-personalised, child-directed ad treatment. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and international transfers
We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, with appropriate safeguards where the law requires.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
